While camping near Big Meadow off Virginia’s Skyline Drive, this frisky, skitter chipmunk paused long enough for its portrait. The little critter made me think of naysayers sometimes encountered and Eleanor Roosevelt’s advice, “Never allow a person to tell you no who doesn't have the power to say yes.”

About Sandra Gould Ford
Sandra Gould Ford is an author and artist, educator and former steelworker. In elementary school, Sandra composed poems, crafted plays and created a graphic novel. She also drew fanciful clothes, attended the Saturday morning art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art and took her first photographs with a Brownie Bullet camera.
