Description
This wall was built along Skyline Drive by the Civilian Conservation Corps [CCC], a federal relief program that provided paid employment during the Great Depression. In so doing, much of this country’s public lands were developed and conserved who found themselves between a rock and a heart place. This image also makes me think of Eleanor Roosevelt’s words, “Most of the work that's done in the world gets done by people who weren't feeling all that well at the time that they did it.”
